Released right after 2021's April Fools Day with no official forewarning, this is an iOS-exclusive Taiko no Tatsujin game, available as a digital title for subscribers of the Apple Arcade service; alongside portable devices, this makes of it the first Taiko no Tatsujin game officially available to personal computer devises (macOS only), as well as an Apple TV game.
Striking the same UI design from the latest arcade (4th gen) and console (Drum 'n' Fun) designs, Pop Tap Beat supplies touchscreen-based input and controller support alike across all the compatible platforms, alongside a console-games-winking unlock system for customization elements and online multiplayer. The game is expected to receive additional song delieveries across its distribution time span.
